What data is stored?

What data is stored? Every access to our homepage and every retrieval of a file stored on the homepage is logged. The storage serves internal system-related and statistical purposes. We use programs from the following providers to improve the user experience or optimize the design of the content:

Openstreet Map

We use OpenStreetMap for the maps on our website. This map service is provided by the OpenStreetMap Foundation, St John's Innovation Centre, Cowley Road, Cambridge, CB4 0WS, United Kingdom.
Every time a user accesses a corresponding page, data is retrieved from OSM caching servers and displayed in the browser. At the same time, data is also sent to these servers and temporarily processed in a log file. In detail, the following data is stored for each access/retrieval:

  • Date and time of retrieval (time stamp) and the IP address of the accessing device or server,
  • Request details and target address (protocol version, HTTP method, referrer, user agent string),
  • Name of the retrieved file and amount of data transferred (requested URL including query string, size in bytes) and
  • Message whether the retrieval was successful (HTTP status code).

This log data is stored for a certain period of time. They are used for statistical evaluation, error analysis and defense against attacks. The processing of the IP address is necessary to enable communication on the Internet. To do this, data must get from the server on which it is stored to the connected computer that wants to access the content.

Newsletter

Lübecker Hafen-Gesellschaft sends out e-mail newsletters at irregular intervals. By subscribing to our newsletter, you consent to us sending you promotional e-mails and statistically evaluating usage. We only send with the consent of the recipient for the purposes specified in the consent or on the basis of a legal permit.

If you would like to receive our newsletter, we need an e-mail address from you as well as information that allows us to verify that you are the owner of the e-mail address provided and that you agree to receive the newsletter.

We use the so-called double opt-in procedure to ensure that the newsletter is sent in a consensual manner. In the course of this, the potential recipient can be included in a mailing list. The user then receives a confirmation e-mail with the opportunity to confirm the registration in a legally secure manner. The address will only be actively included in the mailing list if the confirmation is received.

We use this data exclusively for sending the requested information and offers.

Newsletter2Go is used as the newsletter software. Your data will be transmitted to Newsletter2Go GmbH. Newsletter2Go is prohibited from selling your data and using it for purposes other than sending newsletters. Newsletter2Go is a German, certified provider, which was selected according to the requirements of the General Data Protection Regulation and the Federal Data Protection Act.

More information can be found here.

You can revoke your consent to the storage of the data, the e-mail address and their use for sending the newsletter at any time, for example via the "Unsubscribe" link in the newsletter.

The data protection measures are always subject to technical innovations, for this reason we ask you to inform yourself about our data protection measures at regular intervals by inspecting our data protection declaration.

With the logged double opt-in procedure, we ensure that nobody can register with someone else's e-mail address. In order to be able to prove this, the registrations are logged on the basis of our legitimate interests with the time of registration and confirmation as well as the sender IP address. Changes to the shipping data are also logged. It is sufficient if you enter your e-mail address, further data is optional or can be pseudonymised. We would be happy to provide you with the legal basis (consent or legal permission).

You can cancel the receipt of the newsletter at any time, i.e. revoke your consent. You will find the corresponding link to cancel the newsletter at the end of each newsletter. In order to be able to prove a previously given consent, we can store the unsubscribed e-mail addresses for up to three more years out of legitimate interest, after which they will be deleted. Immediate deletion is possible if the existence of consent is confirmed.

You can recognize an encrypted connection by the fact that the address line of the browser changes from "http://" to "https://" and by the lock symbol in your browser line. If SSL encryption is activated, the data you transmit to us cannot be read by third parties.

We endeavor to store your personal data by taking all technical and organizational measures in such a way that they are not accessible to third parties. When communicating by e-mail, we cannot guarantee complete data security, so we recommend that you send confidential information by post.

Access, rectification, blocking and deletion of data

You have a right to free information about the data stored about you and, if necessary, a right to correction, blocking or deletion of this data. You will find our contact information in the imprint.

The stored personal data will be deleted if you revoke your consent to storage, if knowledge of it is no longer required to fulfill the purpose for which it was stored or if its storage is inadmissible for other legal reasons. This also applies to information sent by email.

Transmitted personal data will be deleted once the intended purpose has been fulfilled. Deletion from third-party providers is subject to the regulations applicable there.

We reserve the right to send you notices of any changes and updates to our policies from time to time. We recommend that you visit our website regularly to take note of any changes and updates. Unless otherwise agreed, the use of all information about our customers and customer accounts is subject to this data protection declaration.
