Jan Schwarz takes over sales management at Lübecker Hafen-Gesellschaft
The Lübecker Hafen-Gesellschaft (LHG) has appointed a new Head of Sales: Jan Schwarz assumed responsibility for Marketing and Sales at the beginning of 2026. He succeeds his predecessor Michael Rudnik, who passed away last year.
With Jan Schwarz, LHG gains an experienced expert with in-depth knowledge of the international shipping and logistics industry. Born in 1976 in Boizenburg, Schwarz began his career after completing military service with an apprenticeship at COSCO Germany in Hamburg, the national subsidiary of the Chinese shipping company COSCO Shipping Lines. He subsequently held various positions with the shipping company China Shipping until 2016, which later merged with COSCO. Since 2018, Schwarz has been responsible for Sales Management in Germany.
“With Jan Schwarz, we are gaining a proven expert in the maritime economy who understands international liner shipping companies just as well as the requirements of a high-performing universal port,” explains LHG Managing Director Sebastian Jürgens. “His experience in global shipping and project business will provide important impetus for the further positioning of LHG.”
Jan Schwarz is married and the father of two daughters. In his new role, he will be responsible for the strategic development of the LHG brand and will further drive the national and international marketing of the port locations Lübeck and Travemünde.
